Traveling to Nashville Tennessee to compete in the Beyond the Stars National Dance Competition, the Dance Dynamics company dancers from Bartlett dominated the four day competition with numerous overall placements and national champion statuses. The studio also received the banner for the prestigious “Studio Excellence” award over studios from across the country. This is an award that is rewarded to one studio at the competition that exhibits professional, courteous behavior along with stellar performances. One of our senior students, Lexi Hivner received a $1,000.00 collegiate scholarship which she will be using at the University of Alabama this fall as well as being crowned Miss Beyond the Stars. Dance Dynamics won the highest score award for all small groups 13 and over in the advanced All Star category, the highest score award for all large groups 13 and over in the advanced All Star category, and the 3rd highest overall score for groups 12 and under in the intermediate Rising Star category in the Ultimate Challenge at the end of the competition. Thirty six overall placements were earned in the solo and group categories prior to the Ultimate End of the Competition challenge.

June tuition is now due. After the 5th, we will accept cash payments only. Please see Miss Kaye if you are unsure of your account balance, and she will be happy to help you out.Dress Rehearsal
Thursday, June 12 is dress rehearsal at Germantown Performing Arts Centre. You should have received an email attachment of the schedule so that you know what time to arrive. Please be seated in the auditorium at your assigned time and you will be called back one class at a time to go to your designated dressing space and get ready. Each time section should take just over an hour. Video cameras are permitted at dress rehearsal, but not at the recital. Please take all of the pictures and video you want at dress rehearsal.
Call time for dancers is one hour prior to the show. The theater doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show and will be locked between shows for clean up. The theater is open seating and there is not a bad seat in the house. If you know you will be needing to get up and down often, you may want to sit on an aisle or in the balcony. Please be courteous of those around you and only move between dances. We do permit dancers to sit in the audience as long as they wear a cover up over their costume and are backstage a minimum of 5 dances before their own. Our show moves really fast and we cannot come looking for you if you’re not backstage on time.
At the end of the show, right after the Dad’s dance, all of the students come out class by class for a final bow. This year we will be presenting each dancer that participates in the finale with a special award to commemorate their year in dance. Please be sure your dancer doesn’t miss out on this awesome ending to a dynamite show!
Order forms are available at the studio for DVDs. Deadline for orders is Thursday, June 12. Order forms will be available at dress rehearsal for last minute orders.
Dance pictures are still available at www.chrishopephotography.com. When you go to the website, look under Dance Dynamics. You will find individual and group pictures available for purchase. You can click on the package options to find prices.
The deadline to place an ad or a personal note to your dancer in our program book is Thursday, June 5. The program is a great commemorative book with color pictures of all of the dance groups as well as the actual program. Ad prices are very reasonable and pictures may be used in ads. Don’t miss out on an excellent opportunity to salute your dancer!
The Dynamic Parent’s Club is still taking orders for recital gifts to be delivered at GPAC on show day. There are forms and a representative available in the lobby to answer questions and take your order.

Can you believe it’s already May? Recital is just around the corner! I know everyone is having a lot thrown at them with end of school activities and what-not. I will try not to overwhelm you with too much information, but there are things you need to know so here we go:
May tuition is now due. Late fees will be assessed after the 10th.
Recital fees are due by May 10. $80.00 per student**, separate check please.
Recital fees cover the rental of the theater and all other production costs. Rather than sell tickets to our show, we charge a recital fee and you can invite as many people as you’d like. **Additional fees for solos, duets, and trios.
We will be sending out rehearsal schedules this week. For many of you there is no change in schedule. If you haven’t received your schedule by Monday, please contact us by phone or email.
We will start full cast rehearsals for “The Lion King” on Tuesday, May 13. These practices will be on Tuesdays from 5:00 – 7:30. All dancers should be at every practice dressed in proper ballet attire. For a few of you, there is a time conflict with another class. We will be shuttling these students back and forth to rehearse with both classes. Please make sure your dancer has a snack before ballet. Two and a half hours at dinner time makes for a “grumbly tummy”.
We all need to be ready and alert during practice!
We are so excited to have Chris Hope Photography shooting our dance pictures again this year! Pictures will be taken
May 10th, 17th, and 18th at the studio. You will be receiving a letter with your assigned time on costume day.
Please make every effort to be at picture day so that your dancer will be included in our recital program.
You will also have the option to purchase these pictures online this year.
Next Tuesday we will begin rehearsals for Dynamic Dads. Rehearsal dates are:
Tuesday May 13 8:00 – 9:00 pm
Tuesday , May 20 8:00 – 9:00 pm
Tuesday , May 27 8:00 – 9:00 pm
Tuesday , June 3 8:00 – 9:00 pm
Thursday, June 12 at 7:30 at GPAC for dress rehearsal
Recital T-shirts & DVD’s
Order forms are available at the desk for T-shirts & DVDs.
Deadline for T-shirt orders is May 24. DVD’s may be ordered through June 6.
Forms are available in the waiting room for anyone wanting to place an ad in our recital memory book. This is a wonderful keepsake for your dancer, and the ad rates are very reasonable. June 1st is the deadline for ads.

Spring has sprung!
There is so much excitement at the studio as we prepare for our annual recital. The dancers are working so hard to perfect their routines and everyone seems to really like their costumes. It will be so much fun trying them on and dancing in them! Here’s wishing you an awesome April!
We will have costume days for all recreational dancers during their regularly scheduled dance class the week of April 21 – 26. Because we will be changing costumes during class,
we ask that mothers (or other female relative) only attend.
Please make arrangements for siblings during this time.
We are so excited to have Chris Hope Photography shooting our dance pictures again this year! Pictures will be taken May 10th, 17th, and 18th at the studio. You will be receiving a letter with your assigned time on costume day. Please make every effort to be at picture day so that your dancer will be included in our recital program.
You will also have the option to purchase these pictures online this year.
There will be a sign up sheet for Dancing Dads beginning next week. This is a wonderful opportunity for fathers to be a part of their child’s dance life. It is always fun and entertaining and provides precious memories for your dancer!
Trophy Sign Up
If this is your 5th or 10th consecutive dance recital, you will want to sign up at the desk to receive a trophy on stage at the recital.
This year our ballet students will be performing “The Lion King”. Costumes are being ordered or made and will be here soon. Additional rehearsals will be scheduled for the full cast in May and June. These practices will all be on Tuesdays from 5:00 – 7:30. There is a $20.00 production fee that will cover all of the extra rehearsals, scenery, props, etc.
Recital Fees are due May 1
$80.00 per student**.
Recital fees cover the rental of the theater and all other production costs. Rather than sell tickets to our show, we charge a recital fee and you can invite as many people as you’d like.
